Comparatively cheap cars in the US

I took notice of the prices of Porches in this discussion forum as well as vehicles that are advertised on ebay. The cars in the US, compared to SA, are ridiculously cheap. A good early 944 will sell in SA for 10000 USD to 12000 USD. Later turbo models in good condition are advertised for so much as 18000 – 22000 USD.
If I lived in the States I will have a long list of vehicles … for all the Americans enjoy those beautiful cars and make sure that have one lined up for every month…..

Rarity and exclusion brings high prices. Half to two thirds of Porshce's production of the 944's went to the states. This is why we can shop around and get a 944 for $500 that needs valves and a timing belt to get it running again.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

I'd like to have a right hand drive 944 , but I can't see me finding one in the states at any kind of reasonable price.

I would have to get one from over there and have it shipped , then brought up to US spec's.

my guess is that there are simply WAYYY more Porsches anywhere in the U.S. than in South Africa. That being said, even though I live in a pretty wealthy area, there are many days that my 944 is the only Porsche I see....

...and then there are days that I see a dozen.
