Need wiring diagram for 93 968

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 93 968?

I'm specifically trying to trace the starter selenoid trigger wire off the ignition switch.

I've got a 968 here that after several miles of driving, spontaneously starts the starter motor running! I'm wondering if the wire isn't picking up some feedback somewhere, and I'd like to trace it before replacing the ignition switch and feed wire.

Thanks!

Spontaneous starter engagement in 968

Gang,

I've got a 968 here that spontaneously engages the starter while the car is running. I tried checking the rigger voltage while jiggling the key, thinking it might be the switch, but it didn't turn anything up.

My thought is that the ignition switch is acting up, but would appreciate any other ideas!

Thanks,

Chris

Hi, Chris,

I sent you a copy of the wiring diagram to the email on your racing journal page.

GB,

Thanks a million. It helped me diagnose the problem.

The customer originally told me they thought this grinding noise was the brakes... ...but also the starter wasn't working.

Turns out the previous hack-job/mechanic who worked on the car hooked the alternator feed wire up to the starter motor feed post on the selenoid. When the alternator started putting out just the right juice it would energize the starter motor. THEN, when you'd hit the brakes, the starter gear would move forward just enought to start hitting the ring gear and start grinding. Release the brakes, the gear would back off slightly, and the alternator would slow down enough to de-energize the starter motor...

It sounded just like a grinding brake... But wasn't.
