pressure plate bolts
I am doing a cluch job, with engine out.
I am re-assembling. When I install the pressure plate, the bolts don't tighten down completely flush. I assume they need to be torqued down flush, otherwise I'd think it will wobble or work loose. Am I correct? Would it be ok to put washers on the bolts so they can be tightened flush? |

I am using botls left over from CV axle job. They are slightly shorter and have a little less thread on them. Being shorter, I'm surprised they won't tighten flush.
I think I may just go buy new bolts tomorrow.

WOW DONT! use any ordanary bolts on the flywheel!!!! The flywheel usually uses special bolts, I think they are like grade 12. I would make sure you get the correct lenght and strenght bolts before you do this, There is alot of rotating mass at the fly wheel, The last thing you want is it to come apart and blow a hole in the bellhousing.
