Boxter owners are like sportbike riders. When I'm riding (I ride a supersport), every cruiser and tourer waves at me, NO EXCEPTIONS. Only one out of every 10 sport riders wave at me. I wave at all riders.

But I love all cars...I don't wave at too many specifics because I feel all the others would get jealous and kill me.

I never wave to boxsters. I did get a nice wave from another '44 today though.

Makenzie71 08-06-2004 12:12 PM

I waved to some guy in a 944 yesterday...he didn't wave back...kinna looked at me funny...then I realized I was in my F150 and looked like a complete moron and drove away.

Ive done that too. You get in the habit of being in a certain vehicle all the time and forget what you are driving. Like when I get in my truck(automatic) and go for the shifter and the clutch .

Stan944 08-06-2004 12:51 PM

VINMAN, it's 'Boxster', not 'Bockster'. Maybe that's why they don't wave at you, :D

I did that all day yesterday. I don't have a problem with accellerating...but I keep trying to downshift while slowing down...

mattdavis11 08-06-2004 01:22 PM

I flashed a 951 from behind the other day, then gave him the thumbs up as I passed. No speeding, regular pace of traffic. I think he got the idea that I was wanting to race, but I just cruised along, and made the same exit he did. Yep he won, but my oh my, that car needed a paint job. :( On second thoughts, I didn't see the rear valence, so who knows which it was. Doesn't matter, he damned near ran a red light.

mattdavis11 08-06-2004 01:25 PM

He looked down into her brown eyes, and said say a prayer for me. Damn, it's going to be stuck for the whole wknd. Charles and Leftie.

CJFusco 08-06-2004 01:39 PM

i got waved at by a guy driving a Buick the other day. My first thought was, "Okay, do i know you, buddy?" then i realized his other car was probably a Porsche.

daxdog 08-06-2004 01:53 PM

9 boxters in 1 day? i see that in about a month.

i've been guilty many times already of waving to air-cooled vw's since i drive those for many years. i also get the duh... look from them.

UconnTim97 08-06-2004 03:11 PM

A few weeks ago I waved to another 944 while driving my dad's vette. It was a reflex before I noticed I wasn't in my car...lol

Funny, I thought it was the other way around http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/happy.gif . I wave at most cruisers I see when I'm riding my zx6r. But hardly any of them wave back. So I gave up.

Back on topic. I was leaving work, and saw a 944 at the McDonalds drive through.

Dantilla 08-06-2004 03:24 PM

I like Boxster owners. They buy new cars so I can buy used ones. Maybe someday I will buy a used Boxster. I don't care if they wave. I just want them to take care of my next car.

You do the biker wave too? I don't have a bike, but when my friend was teaching me how to ride his ninja, one of the things he told me about was always wave to other bikers.

3 Rules to Riding:

#1. Wave to all other riders.
#2. Wave to all children, and anyone who shows genuine interest in your bike.
#3. Give them a good impression.

This 911 owner will wave at all 944s' :)

i wave at all Porsches, Cayenne or not. I have never gotten a wave from a Cayenne, never with a 996, rarely from a Boxster, occastionally from older 911s, most of the time from 944s, and I think every time I've seen a 914 he has waved back.

Harpman2 08-07-2004 11:05 AM

I had an awesome black 928 flash it's driving lights at me yesterday.

Harpman2 08-07-2004 11:07 AM

I think 2/3 of the Cayenne owners don't even recognize a Porsche sportscar when they see one.
