Got my 944 today..

Today I bought a 1987 Porsche 944, from a fellow Pelican member(Siberian)

He drove it all the way up to Boston from DC, which I think was great of him to do.

Anyway, it seems to be in very good condition, the horn and turn signals don't work, but I think(AKA I'm hoping) that it's a relatively easy fix, after that there's not really much it needs(little things here and there)

I have some pictures, but they are all in a big rar file and I'm too tired/lazy to find it, extract it, and all that.. so I'll take some new ones tommorow while i'm getting 20 day plates

Here's one for now that I already have: http://www.ueak.net/chayes/both_cars_003.jpg

Just almost-indenticle cars...lol...

Thanks guys.

CJ, I plan to get active with the PCA at some point in the near future, would be a lot of fun.

I plan to start working on the turn signals/horn problem tommorow, shouldn't be too hard with the workshop manuals.

That was one I was looking at quite a while ago, the owner was asking too much for my tastes... Also, I think they are cookie cutters.

The horn shouldn't take very long to fix. All you have to do is ground it fom the rack to the crossmember. That is if there is wire still dangling from the rack, I dunno if Siberian ever got around to that.

haha, welcome newbie. Watch yourself though, if you do not search I will inform you of the necessity for you to do so

If I were a mod I would ban you on nothing but sheer principle that you're the FNG (f*cking new guy). But I'm not, so I can't physically do it, but I can tell you that your zipper is down. I'm just giving you ***** if you didn't know, it seems to be my job.

Nice car though btw, looks like my old one. My only request is that you proceed to http://www.tirerack.com and buy some good sticky tires for that lil n/a.

Mattdavis, the problem we discussed earlier was on my '84...the horn on the '87 was working sporadically, I'd start by cleaning the contract behind the pad.
As far as the turn signals, just double check the relay under the hood, I might have yanked it out while trying to troubleshoot the power drain (later found out it was the aftermarket alarm)....

'87+ cars had a different wheel offset, 23mm versus 53 for the earlier cars. This was done in order to integrate the optional ABS implemented '87+. The later offset cars can also fit virtually all of the new style Porsche wheels without modification, whearas the older cars will require spacers.
