				CA cars and Chips

How do "chipped" cars fair at emissions testing in California? My 944S has a Europroducts chip and an interested buyer in California wants to know if it will pass emmissions. Just wondering if it will pass or should I put the stock one back in for them. thanks link to ad

My 84 8v 944 has an autothority chip and that passed (although it was close) the San Francisco smog test (I think they vary in severity county to county, or it might just vary in regularity). I can't vouch for a 16V or for a different chip, but there is some hope. Do you still have the stock chip? it might be worth throwing that into the deal anyway since you probably won't have much use for it in your 911 in waiting! I'm sure someone else who knows what they are talking about will 'chip' in soon and be more helpful!

CYA - and simply install the stock chip and provide him with the other chip...
