Walter Rohrl laps the 'Ring in a 997S
Good ol Walt took the 997 Carrera S around the Nurburgring for a few hot laps. Here are some 996 "best laps" for reference:
996 Turbo: 7 minutes, 56 seconds 996 GT3: 7 minutes, 54 seconds 996 Carrera 2: 8 minutes, 20 seconds His up-to-date best lap in the 997 Carrera S? 7 minutes, 59 seconds. That beats the previous Carrera by TWENTY ONE SECONDS. According to EXCELLENCE, Rohrl "says he wasn't out to set an official record in the 997S - so he feels that there's probably another 2-3 seconds in the car as it sits." That's pre-turbo, pre-racecar treatments... this car is already stiking me as something special. Now, how do i get 80 large by this fall?

Yeah that new 997 sure is something else. I just got invited by the local dealer to attend a cocktail party "for the exclusive reveal of the new porsche 911 carrera" next Saturday. I can't wait!
