Peoples Opinion

After some debate, I've come to a crossroad on what I should do to the front end of my car. I already have a new nose panel coming (red already, makes it that much easier to paint). The problem is I cant decide what bumper to use. I'm either repairing the OEM bumper and using that, a Fiberwerks front bumper, or an European one, and keep my stock valence (get two additional lights). I have my heart set on an European one, but I just cant find one (unless someone has one for sale). Anybody have a suggestion?

i would suggest either going with the fiberwerks one or waiting a month to see what I can put together to delete the bumper/impact assembly all-together. None of the stock NA bumper assemblies are worth a ****, performance wise...get an aftermarket temp guage and read block temperatures without the bumper as opposed to with and you'll see what I'm talking about. The stock assembly lets almost ZERO air flow through....

yeah but I also live in New York...home of the idiots that back up into you at red lights (yes it happened to me at least once on ALL of my previous cars) so Im not taking a risk. Id rather have little airflow (its hot as hell here right now, and the car takes it fine) then a few thousand in damages to fix everything on the front of the car when some stupid ***** doesnt realize what she is doin in her SUV on her cell and backs up too far because she crossed over the white line at a light (mind you im 20 feet behind her).

The Fiberwerks bumper does have a nice grille opening...but it leaves me wondering what I should use to fill the gaping holes..i dont want the ricer look chicken wire, or the gaping hey I can see the frame of your car look..

The stock bumper is currently the only bumper for the impact prevention... The euro bumper is fiberglass and doesn't use bumper shocks. The fiberwerks bumper is fiberglass and doesn't use bumper shocks. So, if you are scared of getting hit, you need the stock bumper.

lol guess im going to have to watch out then....but for now the bumper got put on hold...the clutch grenaded driving up to CT for the show...thank god for the factory failsafe rings in the factory disc...i was able to drive to the show, and back home (170 miles each way) but i couldnt go faster than 70mph...or about 3000 rpm...time for a new clutch

Just did some looking around...its either $450 for a new sachs clutch with throwout bearing and pressure plate on ebay..or $426+shipping for just a disc and throwout bearing from performance parts

Time to save up

stop telling people it's for a porsche...

What's the porsche clutch disc part number? Look that up on an open web search and see if it comes up with any VW parts or something...
