Fuel Filter?
When I first got my 85/2 944 it had problems loosing power and dying anytime, at speed, accel, decel, etc. I unplugged the throttle switch sensor and that seemed to fix the problems so I replaced it and it ran beautifully for 2 days. I think that was only half the problem.

It used to die somewhere between 2-10 times a day and after I replaced the throttle switch it would now only stutter and only do that once every other day or so. stutter meaning rpms drop but engine does not die like it used to. Then I filled it up with 91 octane 2 days ago and it has been freaking out. rpms drop and it dies a lot. My friend asked if I let the tank get low before refueling and indeed I had let it get the lowest yet since I bought the car. How big is the tank? I filled it up with 14.2 gallons when I filled it and the problems started.

So anyway he suggested that perhaps letting the tank get really low let a lot of debris get in the fuel line and that my fuel filter is shot. What do you think? order one of these: F-110-253-06?

Or the other thing I was thinking was perhaps it doesn't like 91 octane? I remember there was a thread about this recently I will go look it up.

I wouldn't be surprised if your filter is old/nasty/plugged full of crap. It's not hard to replace. I guess it's just out-of-sight, out-of-mind, because I've seen several come out of 944's that had obviously been left in the car way too long.

It couldn't hurt to change it. JMO
