Which is more reliable S2 or Turbo S?
I can't find a decent 944S2, so I'm considering a Turbo S or a '89 944 Turbo. Are the turbos more expensive to maintain, or is it a wash?

Many many many more parts to break on a turbo! If you don't have the wallet to support it you may want to consider the S2 bcz of the N/A aspect.
Both have similar routine maintenence which can get expensive...but with a turbo you have parts like wastegates, vacuum lines (well a lot more of them), turbos etc etc that could go bad and cost you lots of $$$.
