Need help with the value of an '88 924S motor??

On Monday I bought a badly hit '88 924S with 92K that had a couple of body pieces I wanted. It was kind of on a whim, so I hadn't given much thought what to do with the rest until I answered a WTB:a 944 motor post. He asked what I wanted for the motor and I don't have an answer. Althought it was hit very hard in the driver's side, it still starts and moves, but the 60 year old woman owner hasn't worked in 6 months as a result of accident. She said the belts had been done a year or so before, but there are no records... Regardless, the motor sounds tight, there is no smoke and it idles dead steady at about 950-1000...in fact, it idles better than my current motor!!! It is an automatic, so was probably not as stressed as a 5 speed. There is some fluid on the passenger side front of the motor, but that may be power steering fluid as there is a clear leak from one of the hoses.

Any idea of the value of this motor?? Thanks for your reply!

Ask the buyer of the motor what he feels is a fair price. He probably already has a price that he would like to pay in mind. You bought the car for a few panels so the sale of the motor would be a bonus.

just my opinion
