Finally! Pics of my daily beater

Exactly what planet are these cars from? I finally got a digital camera and took some pics. The "S" is my daily city year-round driver with 170,000mi on the clock so far, and we've had some NASTY winters here in the Northeast in the past few years. It even drives better than it looks!

Nice.

I have always liked phones on dark colored cars...

cookies on white too

With an interior like that I would never believe it has that many miles!

Nice car Panzer!
Fellow 'burgher here.

Wheels look really nice.
Have they been refinished?
If so, where did you get them done?
Thanks

Hey Panzer,

That's a gorgeous beater! I guess that makes mine a flat out junkyard wreck! Some day...

You don't have any good pics of the engine by any chance?! Tough to find good pics of what the 16v is supposed to look like!

Plum, good call - I did in fact refinish the wheels. I bought a "German wheel refinishing kit" from Griot's Garage and redid 'em myself about a year ago. It was about $60. The center crests were done with some old Testors model airplane paint that I found while cleaning out the family attic.

GostRidr, here is a pic of the engine bay. Not exactly concours, though:

Nice, what a beautiful color too! One question, how you like that low end torque?

Why thank you, Serge. To be honest, the low-end torque and performance band over the 8v cars is minimal. The only real difference is above 4000 RPM, and I hardly ever go there.

The pics don't do it justice. The car is beautiful--it is definately the nicest "S" I have ever seen.
