porsche 924 (add turbo)
hi,i,ve recently just bought an 924(1982),since i,ve had it i,ve thought it had no go!(so to speak).So i added a high lift cam and a pipercross air filter,not much i know but it has give about a 15hp gain!.Now i,ve been speaking to a friend about adding an turbo to the car but don't know if i can simpley add one to the 924.
Please could anyone help me find out and what the work would be.many thanks matt.

Anything is possible with enough $$$$. The question is do you have enough? It might be waaay less expensive to find a good 931 in the first place.

The 924 engine is a poor enigne to begin with, very low power not much to work with, Im sure you could add a turbo with a low boost application 8-9psi, But why not get a 924S its got the 944 motor much more HP potential then the 924, but im sure you could add a turbo, just need some $$$$$, start looking for used 931 parts to help you out a little.

hi,thanks for the help,the only thing is that i got this porsche for £250 of a person leaving the uk.So i dont really want to buy an other car,want to do this one up and then buy maybe a 944 or 924s.

If this one is in good shape, try to sell it off for what you paid for it and start saving for the 924S. More power, lighter than the 944 and faster. Or find a good 931. They can usually beat the crap out of most 924S or 944 N/A. Check over on 924board.org. A lot of Brits over there and sometimes have some for sale. |
