I'm sure that centerforce or spec is good, but for the much cheaper price sachs makes a great clutch kit for our cars.
Make sure you do all of the following: total clutch kit > disc, pressureplate, throwout bearing rear main seal Pilot bearing machine the flywheel But, if you already did all of this then just ignore me on that one. ![]()

I'm using an OEM Porsche clutch, made by Sachs (spring disc) and my car should be running tomorrow so I will let you know how it feels. for $480 shipped I guess it cant be all that bad.

if you bought it from vertex or many of the other places like that and it was a kit for $480 it is not really a schs clutch, they put a cheapo disc in and thats why they can sell it so cheaply. Get the real Sachs stuff, trust me!

We use Centerforce with all of our cars (They all end up needing a clutch eventually). I have one in my 924S, it works really well. They grab fast and hard. As long as you know how to drive a stick, you should have no problems at all. As mentioned, do everything while you are in there, you do not want to go back in 3-6 months....

I have a SPEC stage II in the mail for my MX6. I got in on a Bulk Buy for them so I got it pretty cheap. I never even knew SPEC made clutches though for 944s. ::shrugs:: I guess I learn soemthing new everyday

I bought mine from Performance Products. It was a little expensive, but all the parts were indeed genuine Sachs parts. The Pressure plate has it molded in the metal, and the disc has it stamped between two springs. 'SACHS MADE IN GERMANY' written on that....is that OEM enough for you?

Yes Bluebulet that is exactly what you want. I am just amazed by the cheap price though for that, sounds like a really great deal. Whatever you do anyone else make sure that if you order sachs stuff it is truly sachs stuff. The disc should have it stamped from the factory, most in some sort of purple color.

yeah performance products had a sale on them..the only thing iwasnt too happy about was that the catalog lists them as $395..you get a throwout bearing, disc and pressure plate. When I called it was $435, and I ordered the pilot bearing as well (which i didnt use because I couldnt get mine out, and it was still perfect with no slop in it), which was like $16, and shipping it all came out to $480.85...It was more than I wanted to spend, but after you said they give you cheaper discs in the other kit, I'm happy I spent more..
btw Performance Products only had 4 in stock when I ordered mine, so I dont know if they have them anymore...

blue bullet, next time do the pilot bearing, although next time will be a long time i think for you. Just use a 3/8" long extension, for your socket wrench. Stick it in one side and then hammer on it lightly, slowly working your way around and around, it should pop out...

what costs you the big bucks is when the part says.......... OE (Original Equipment) and has P in a diamond. <--- porsches guarantee
I have never had any trouble with OEM parts (Original Equipment Manufacturer) either way....
