First (semi) long trip in the 44

Just got back, only a two hour drive each way but it's the longest I've driven the car so far... it performed flawlessly the entire time and got pretty amazing gas mileage too.

It was a lot of fun, a normally boring trip became pretty exciting in that car... I even got the wave from a boxter, and a 911.

My friend's dad just got a '93 911 RSA, and I went for a little ride in that, it was pretty amazing...

Back to the point though, I now know from experience that the 944 is truly an amazing car... drivng it isn't like driving any other car.. it feels... different somehow. It makes me a better driver. I stick to the speed limit(for the most part) and I'm more aware.

I love that car.

We recently took my '44 on a 500mi round trip. My wife (who rode the whole way) actually prefered it to riding in her Saturn. It is a great car for taking 2 person trips in.

I recently took a "long" trip in my 83 944. I drove it to the Concourse de excellence (car-show) at Keeneland racetrack which is about 90 miles 1 way. It was so much fun drving it down there and the car performed like a champ 150 degrees F the whole time with the AC on. The car is 21 years old and I wouldnt be afraid to take it anywhere

Don't be shy taking these cars on a long road trip. I take mine on the annual 22+ hour round trip to the F1 Grand Prix in Montreal every year from Pittsburgh, and several magical mystery tours to NJ and MD each year as well. My friends have a running joke that my 944 has the uncanny ability to get BETTER with miles & age.

I tend to agree; I'm sure most on this board will, too

got the plates, thanks!
you may want to consider re-tensioning the belts at some point in the near future. If noone local has the porsche tool you can borrow, try using kirket. Nappa sells it for about $11, instructions can be found on http://www.arnnworx.com/

Mine gets 70 miles every day to and from work, and I've never had a problem on the highway.

These cars are perfectly happy eating concrete at high speed

My long trip in the 944 was to 944Fest
I think I had about 1900 miles on it from the trip
Loved every minute

My long trip in the 951 was to 944Fest
A little shorter this time, I think I ended up with about 1600 miles from that trip.
Loved every minute except when it was 90 degrees, raining, and had no a/c... haha
