because the original Z3 was rushed into production after the original Boxster Concept debuted (and was a big hit) in 1993?

its starting to look a little more 911-ish. And the nose seems to have grown a few inches..and those HUGE brakes...

as with most models, I'd have to see it in person to make a real judgement
At this point, I'd still rather have the current (facelift) Boxster S.

Porsche will never make a Turbo Boxster, because the performance would easily eclipse that of the 911 Carrera (Boxster S is almost there), a big no-no that they learned when the lower-priced 951 began to hurt 911 3.2 sales.

Now where did I put those lotto tickets...
Kind of like the special edition 550 boxster also... Ha ha, and I have to save up to fix my power steering, like I'll ever be able to afford a boxster!

I agree the new porsche rims look like they belong on a Dodge pickup...
Only problem I have with a new Boxster... is that you can now pick up a slightly used 996 for $40K. ![]()

The numbers? The 350Z does not put up significantly better numbers than the Boxster S (the only Boxster that could, in good conscience, cost $55,000) on paper. When it comes to road testers' impressions, it isn't even close: the Boxster is the gold standard to which other roadsters are measured, and the 350Z is the trendy roadster of the moment, but will soon be relegated (along with the TT, the Z3, the SLK, and the S2000) as also rans, while the Boxster will be considered a classic. Most magazines still consider the Boxster one of the best sports cars in recent memory.

Well The 350Z beats it in price and you get alot of Performance for the money almost better then the Boxster S. Her I some specs I found
350Z specs engine type V6 HP 287 @ 6200rpm Torque 274@4800rpm 6 speed rear wheel drive weight 3,197lbs (track) weight dist. 53% front 47% rear 0-60 5.2 secs 1/4 mile 14.2 secs @ 101mph 60-0 124ft in 2006 the 350Z will be getting a factory upgrade and will be at 310HP!! The boxster S is limited to how far they can push her because they dont want to hurt 911 sales. hee are specs on the Boxster S and yes it does beat the Z in some areas but for 51,000 boxster S its not worth it when you can get a 33,000 350Z and be really close to the performance of a Porsche Boster S specs weight 2,910lbs weight dist. 46% front 54% rear 258hp@6200rpm torque 229@ 4600rpm 0-60 5.6 secs 1/4 mile 13.9 secs@ 102mph Not that big of a difference ohh and yes some of my specs may be a little different, I just searched google because I couldnt find any of my CAR&DRIVER MAGS
