Top Gear and Clarkson in the Carrera GT
If you haven't seen the Top Gear test of the CarreraGT yet, download it NOW.
Clarkson, who was never a Porsche guy, is absolutely giddy -- Tiff Nadeel giddy. He actually hoots when he gets on the throttle. When they post the result of the Stig's lap in the CGT, i found myself clapping along with the Top Gear staffers (well, not really  )

Yeah that's one thing I'm very surprised by on that list
The others: The Maserati Coupe is barely faster than a Bentley Arnage. Shouldn't it be in the same league as the DB7? The Audi S4 is just a bit quicker than the 996TT. WHAT?!?

yes, i always enjoyed watching "top gear" when i lived in britain, and its nice to see it on speedvision, aka fifth gear. i'm really hoping that they show the rac rally of britain, as its unbelieveable.
for n. america viewers, i'm sure its offbeat style, will impress many.

Hey guys it's surprising of Jeremy to act this way towards a Porsche since he has criticized the car company on several occasions. That is, until he got his mits on Porsche's new rocket.
 Black looks really good on these cars as well as silver and red. I wonder are these the only colors you can get it in???Andy

I know some of the tests were done in wet conditions...
And its a one shot run, so if Stig does fluff something on his lap, it might unfairly reflect on the times. Is that list for just the dry-runs, or does it also contain the wet-runs?

I think that's both. Each episode I noticed the tarmac in a different condition, being wet or dry.....it'd be a lil more realistic if it were all dry.

bigyiagi - Top Gear and Fifth Gear are actually two different shows. When Clarkson came back to Top Gear a couple years ago, Tiff left for whatever reason (clash of egos?) and started 5th Gear. IMHO, the current crop of Top Gears (since the show has let the testers' personalities show through) are far better than the original Top Gear (Clarkson), the Tiff Top Gear, or 5th Gear.
Andy- Clarkson didn't hate the Porsche company, only the 911. He always loved Ferraris, and always kept a wary eye on Porsche... he did, however, adore the 944. He lists it in his all-time favorite cars. His distaste for the 911 changed once the more-mainstream-friendly 996 debuted.

I have a good question, did Porsche ever develop any V10s for racing purposes prior to the Carrera GT (btw, isn't it designated as number 980 too)???? Lets say for like it's Indy racing league cars????

the V10 in the CGT was developed for an endurance racer, but the program was scrapped (or WAS IT?!?) and the design was put to use in the road car.
