tunes

I've seen several posts recently on locations for subs, removing seats to put speaker boxes etc. The first thing I did when I got my 944 is to tighten it up (as I do with all of my vehicles that come with less than stellar systems) an amp in the rear and some 6x9 enclosures, replace the fronts, sounds pretty good to me but........ I find that I am listening to tunes at stoplights and when creeping through traffic. The rest of the time when my foot is in it (which is often) I much prefer to listen to the wind and the engine/exhaust. I've had a several V8 mustangs, a modded Miata, but I've never felt attuned to an engine note like this one. I've been told my system sounds exceptional, but you know what? I think I just plain prefer listening to the audio coming from under the hood. What about you guys?

You gotta love that porsche sound! Thats why they came with such poor stereos in the first place!!
But I appreciate some guys like to upset the balance and increase the weight by adding large systems they never use!

I am putting in the new stereo to cover up the Hummm from my wheel bearings that need to be replaced.

Once that is done...

......and I get the last of the rattles and squeeks tracked down...

I shall listen to your favorite song once again.

my old 944 made too many dumb sounds to not listen to music. My mustang is just too loud to listen to music. And my Mazda will be getting a 12" Kicker L5 within the next few days. now if only my friction plate for my 9 lbs flywheel would come...

If my 944 made mechanical music like my 914, or like a well tuned 911, or, the ultimate, like my dad's tweaked Ferrari.... then I would agree.

But, the 944 is way to sedate to live without fine audio equipment.

I don't even know why they put stereos in porsches. They weight too much. And who needs a navigation system in a new 997? Not me! I figure if I go fast enough I don't need dirrections. I could go the wrong way and still get there faster then a Buick.

Plus my telescoping antenna increase drag and decreases my top speed when my radio is on.
