Tire Time

Looks like it's just about time to get my long term project rolling. I'd like to shoe it with performance street tires that I wouldn't be embarrased taking to an AX. Due to fender clearance issues I'm limited to 205/55/16 in front and maybe 225/50/16 rears. What will give me the biggest bang for the buck? I'm looking at Kumho, Yokohama, and Falken, and where is a good shop to have it done in the San Diego area. Thanks

Maybe a little more $... but you should also look at Bridgestone Potenza S-03s. You could order online from Tirerack and use an approved local installer.

I put Toyos on mine (T1-S) and I must say they feel phenomenal. Then again, my old tires were shot.

Don't know how you feel about Pirelli's, but I just had the PZero Nero in the same sizes put on my 944...they stick like glue !

Bought my car with new brakes and new T1-S's.. Both had only about 300 miles on them. Looks like the only $ the PO invested in the car.

They do ride nice tho.

Yeah, I actually did notice an improvement in ride quality over the old tires, suprisingly enough. The old ones were Bridgestone RE730s, and they weren't as grippy and rode harder.

I'm leaning towards the Faklen Ziex ZE-512s (daily driver). Anyone have any experience with these?
