over heating
i have an 85.5 944 and the temp gauge fluctuates a lot. It is usually in the upper half of the normal range. occasionally it will enter the upper half. Where does your gauge usually read and is it staedy? What could my problem acctually be?

Mine reads just above 80 C during normal highway driving on flat ground. 80 C is the line just below the horizontal. The line just above the horizontal is 100 C. So mine reads about 83 I would estimate.

Check the ground....my 944 temp needle shifts when I flip electrical switches. Infrared temp check has it just fine and steady. May be the same issue with yours.
