Yes...Hot start problem again

Hi all

My 924 has the hot start problem. I just need to know- Why is it that this particular audi engine suffers from the problem (It's well known about). Is there any other reported hot start problems on other cars.

I konw of the fix for it (Cold start modification), is there any other way of sorting this problem out?

Cheers
Misty

volvos, bmw's, most with fi, all have had check valves for 20+ years, which fail, downstream/out of of the pump to prevent the system from bleeding down, making for hard starting.

Bearone2,
So is it the injectors that is the actual problem then? I know they become faulty and leak, flooding the engine. If it is, then perhaps it might be just an easy job of replacing the injectors.

Cheers
Misty

IF your injectors are leaking, by all means, replace them.

A faulty fuel accumulator will also cause a hot start issue.

Fuel pump check valve failure will cause a hot and cold start problem.
