Blowout

I was going to work this morning and the car felt a bit odd. I was on a country road doing 60 and was thinking about a nice place to pull over when. Boom..rear driver tire disinergated. Complete seperation both side walls ripped from the tread. Had to break out the inflateable spare to get the rest of the way to work. The inflateable is actually a neat little tire. I'm going to be gone on business for a few months, so the car will be parked. Has anyone tried the Yokohama Avid V4S tires? What is the worst blow out anyone else has had?

I haven't tried those, but the Yokohama ES100 is a great tire, and the new Fuzions are supposedly very good and sticky too. I'm glad the tread didn't tear the inner fender out of the car. Those things can do very serious damage to wheel wells.

First of all, glad to hear that you and the car are okay. A blowout can be catastrophic for everyone involved if the conditions are right.

Aren't sure about those, but I've had nothing but great luck with Duplop Sports. Had a blowout on a brand new one last year when a piece of metal wedged into the sidewall at about 50mph. just a gunshot-like pop and a massive vibration im mediately afterwards. Thank God for AAA............

I had so many flats on my old Dunlaps it was ridiculous. The sp5000 was a decent tire, then it started to wear. Given, the tires lasted a long time, but the grip was horrible in wet or dry once they wore at all. The tires never did balance out right either. I had Yokohamas beofre those (A008P's) and they were the grippiest tire I'd ever seen (other than a track tire). Once I put Yokohamas on there again, I haven't had a problem balancing them or anyhting. The grip is awesome, and the ride it great.
