balance shafts

I am putting in a water pump (had the t.belt done but not the w. pump a couple of months ago) and I got it to tdc and marked the cam and crank gears but not the bal. shaft gears and I seem to have moved them a little (didn't realize they moved so easily). I was told its not that big a deal and that I can spin them a little and they will rest in a "heaviest end down" manner . Is this true or is there something else I need to do or are they ok the way they are ?
Thanks , cj44

gravity will pull them in to the wrong position. Follow Clark's garage notes, great info

Just don't put them on 180 degrees out. THey will vibrate like you've never seen when you hit 3000RPM and up.

be sure to keep the balance belt tense while putting it on or you may be 1 tooth off, ask me how i know. it will vibrate if off 1 tooth. don't put all the covers on till you are sure.
