Do you mean Swepco?

I've been looking at that stuff for a long time myself. I'm torn - never really believed in the "snake oils" but Swepco is a trusted name. Anyone? Anyone?

Mobil 1 is a great oil. I wouldn't take a chance on mixing chemicals inside my engine to see what happens.

This sounds to me like the same stuff as Wynns hydraulic lifter fluid. It is an oil additive that serves a similar purpose.

My local mechanic (not a porsche guy! he thought my 944 had an audi engine in it!!!) recommended this as a fix for my noisy tappets, he said it's about 50/50 as to whether this stuff works or not.

I tried it and it worked for about a week but then the noise returned. Very much a short term solution and as Dantilla says, diluting Mobil1 with anything other than more Mobil1 is probably not a good idea!

Next time I will bite the bullet and do the engine overhaul I ended up doing anyway and save myself the £10 to drown my porsche sorrows with!!

Thou shalt not put additives in the 944 oil.

Very bad.

Clogs galleys.

Search 'oil additives' and you will find a plethora of info.
