I have a 1983 944 and i want to put an air filter on it but i dont know what i should get to get the most performance out of my engine. I was looking at the vtx performance inhaler but im not sure. Any advice will help. Thanx

Get a new factory-spec paper filter and install it in the factory box, and ensure the black plastic pipe is connected properly to the outlet on the inner fender wall.
Replace when dirty.

If you do a search, you will find this topic debated endlessly. Bottom line....like they have said above...just buy a stock unit.
