No fuel supply

Ok here goes.

I was just driving normaly and the car started act as it was running out of fuel and stopped. I checked fuel gauge it indicated 1/2 full.

So while I was on the side of the road I checked fuel pump and I could not hear it or feel it working. So I checked the fuse nothing blown. So after 3 hours waiting for the tow truck (NOT A GOOD LOOK) I got home. Then I removed the fuel pump, And checked it by direct wire to the battery it worked no problems. I then replaced the relay with a second hand spare that I have ( thanx Russell) and still no power.

Now what I need is for the good Porsche fairy to come down and wave her magic wond and make it right, Or master Yoda to instruct me on what to do next.
Some of the suggestions I have had so far are
1) Sell it (wife)
2) use a match (brother)
3) leave it on the side of the road and hope someone uses a match (other brother)

Number 3 sounded good before the tow truck turned up

Thanx Porsche postie

Just to make sure, You do know that the fuel pump only turns on when you are cranking or runing.

You also might want to take a volt meter and see if you have power at the wires by the pump

The fuel pump also has a fuse. The second set of contacts in the DME relay run the fuel pump. The first set power the DME and the injectors. The coil comes off of the ignition switch.

So you can check for voltage at the injectors and at the coil with the key on and eliminate half of the no start problems -- the DME relay or ignition switch. The other half is the speed sensors. Then there is that mysterious one third that no one can find.

I need to add that you can over ride the fuel pump side of the DME relay by jumping from Aux fuse 3 to Aux fuse 2. These are on the eight fuse block. Fuse one is closest to the drivers door (in the US).
