Manifold is coming off

I read a previous post about bead blasting and dipping the manifold. What is bead blasting? Dipped in what? I want to spend some time improving the apprearance of the manifold. From what I've read, I can get it bead blasted at a machine shop for a reasonable price and then polish it with some power tools. Any suggestions on what to polish and coat with?

You are talking about the intake manifold right?? Bead blasting is when they put a part in a machine that sprays little beads at high speeds at the part, It will clean and refresh the metal, looks real nice when its done. Dipping is also another cleaning method, Part is dipped in hot hemicals to remove grease ect. As for polishing, its alot of hard work and it can be a ***** to get into the small cracks, If your gonna get the cleaning done then I would also have them polish it, then you might also want to put a nce clear coat of paint over it so it will stay clean and not fade as fast. Thing is about polishing is that since are parts are a alloy they will start to fade and then you have to polish them agian. You might just want to get the manifold powdercoated
