k&n airfilter
I recently fitted a k&n air filter to my s2 944cab which although it doesn't feel like it's improved performance much it has made acceleration through the gears much, much smoother.Just wandering now whether she needs to be retuned (do k&n's draw in more air or it it just a smoother flow).

hard to say. the main reason i got it is for the hands off maintenance. plus, i never have to replace it (in theory). i've had mine for more than 20K miles, just cleaned it this week, looked pretty good anyway, popped it back in, done. i think that their claims of 5% or whatever are rather ridiculous. however, at the end of a normal filter's life, i bet those claims are even a bit low. with a K and N, they breathe better dirty than a new normal filter does when it is new. so there you go.
