charcoal canister help, please!

sorry about the post in parts for sale section...

i bought a new charcoal canister, because mine was simple GONE. i took it out of the box and it is much larger than i expected: it is about eleven inches tall and about 4 inches in diameter. also, it seems there are three intake/outlet holes. while it may seem that they are self explanatory, they are labeled tank/luft/motor, for the life of me, i cannot figure out how the hoses are supposed to be routed. being that i didn't ever see the old one, just have always smelled gasoline in its absence after filling up, i have not a clue. PLUS i am mechanically challenged.

how do i install the thing? what is the hose routing? and is it kosher to install it under the hood instead of in the wheel well? (sounds blasphemous, but i don't know if the bugger really should fit there - and i know it would be much easier to rig a mount for it under the hood.)

Hey hold it up in a mock position under the wheel well, and if it doesn't fit - it doesn't fit. No use try to hack job it in there. "Luft" means "air" in German (if that helps). Where did you pick the part up?

actually, i just checked it out. it does fit. i didn't see the upper bracket, as it is way up there. i got the part from pelican. i think it is an updated part but should work anyway. the part number starts with a 993. i am going to tee the one hose coming from the engine compartment and and attach it to both the engine/tank fittings. the luft fitting is obviously the breather to outside air. i think it will work just fine.
