Urgent Wheels question
I have a set of 15" Fuchs off of a 1985.5 944 NA. However, It appears that these are actually wheels off of a 911 as dictated by the serial numbers. So I am going to trade my wheels to a fellow PCA member for a new set. This guy offered me $500.00 for them. I called a tuner up in Massachusetts who said these wheels are worth $1000-$1200 because they are from the 911. So my question is how much do you guys think these wheels are really worth!?!?!? Am I getting ripped off at $500.00?? Now, these wheels are in reasonably good condition no curb marks, with only a slightly faded finish. They also have brand new Bridgestone Potenza tires on them.

worth way more than $500!!! 911 Fuchs are very hard to get a hold of definately worth a Pretty penny. I think more in the neighborhood of $1k for just the rims is closer to what it should be.

A quick search on the local PCA site and rennlist yielded two ads that were asking for $400 for two 15x6 fuchs and $1k for a full set and those were without tires.

15 inch Fuchs are not worth much. i'd say jump on the $500, or have your friend give you $800 since he can sell tem for $1200!!
i sold my set of 16x7 inch Fuchs for $400 with used tires. the staggered 16x7 and 16x8 are the one's that go for 800-1000 without tires in good condition. all Fuchs have the 911 part #s

944s and 911s use the same wheels. The optional Fuchs on the 944 were the 911 wheels.
I don't think there is such a thing as Fuchs with 944 part numbers. I bought a set of 7 & 8 x15's for 650 with tires. I then bought a parts car that came with Fuchs so I sold them again without the tires for $600. |

There are 951 Fuchs which are supposedly bigger to accomodate larger brakes, or so I hear.

Yes. The 1986 Fuchs that were optional on the 951 are sought after by the 911 guys. The 8" rears are the only 8" that will fit the front of a 911.
I used to have a 951 with these Fuchs. I wish I kept those wheels when I sold the car. |

My 2 cents: if they are 15 by 7" and 8" Fuchs, then are worth at least a $700 to $1K. Because they if they are getting rare, set of all 7's then they are not worth as much.
The Fuchs wheel is still one of the strongest wheels for it's weight available, especially in 15 inch fitment. I think that for a 944 running in SCCA/PCA stock classes, an auto-crosser would be hard pressed to find a better wheel than a 7 inch Fuchs. Easy does it
