air / fuel ratio gauge with FRWilk chip
I was looking around at air fuel ratio gauges and the best way to wire them too work with the DME. Then i realized, the FRWilk chip does not use the O2 sensor. So that would essentially make any readings from a a/f gauge useless right?

it wouldnt make it useless. you would still have the sensor and you could still hook one up and read what it says. but the stocker isnt a good way to tune.

with WILKS chip installed and my HR A/F gauge Im almost always above STOC. Then agian I have bumped up my Fuel pressure too. If you use the A/F gauge on a stock setup it moves all over the place but with wilks chip installed it is more controlled. If it was aviable when I first did my mods I would have went with a WIDE BAND 02 sensor and A/F gauge

hope you got lots of spare cash, wideband gets expensive. currently the best pod-style wideband is the one by aem;
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/aemgauge.htm there should be a (possibly cheaper) one available from zeitronix around february or march, and the guys on rennlist are planning on making a group discount buy, in case you can wait; http://www.zeitronix.com/

fast924S, how do you have the gauge hooked up. Did you splice into the DME harness for the a/f ratio gauge? Im just curious to see how others have done it.

the best way is to splice into the DME for narrow band.
for wideband, you'll have to run a seperate line. there's a LOT of info on this install on rennlist; http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=170416&highlight=gauge and; http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=159995&highlight=gauge and; http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=143445&highlight=autometer

ummm I dont understand? All our 944 and 924S cars have a narrow band 02 Sensor. If you wanted to run a very accurate A/F guage then you will need to install a wide band sensor and the A/F gauge, so yes you would keep the stock o2 gauge for the DME and install a Wide Band one. But if you just looking to get the basic idea of what your A/F ratio is then I would just run a A/F gauge off the stock 02 sensor
