I have Boxster 16" wheels on my car and am thinking of going with 17" in the rear. I would lower it with the eccentric nuts to keep it level and use a tire with the same size sidewall.
Other than weight (17's weighing more), Are there any real performance / suspension problems created by this?

Re: Larger diameter rear wheels ?
Quote:
Even if the weight of the the 16 inch wheels/tires were the same as the 17 inch wheels/tires, the increased diameter of the wheel moves the mass of the wheel further out from center and this requires even more power to turn the larger diameter wheel.

Well,
I did have in mind going with a larger, meaner tire. Somehow low profiles don't really look that great on 944's to me.
