You are invited to 944Fest
I am EXTREMELY pleased to announce I have come to terms with the location folks and can officially announce that 944Fest 05 is scheduled for July 16th and 17th. We will gather at Snow Trails Ski Lodge, in Lexington, OH starting at noon, Saturday. This facility is very big, very cool, very accomidating and in the middle of some great roads for cruising. 924s, 944s, 928s 968s are all welcome! I'm also extremely pleased to announce the first 944Fest DYNO SHOOTOUT! I've booked a chasis dyno to be on hand Saturday from noon to whenever, to put down some HP numbers. Highest HP in several different classes can expect valuable trophies! Sat eve we'll have the customary bonfire, and Sunday we'll show, shine, cruise and give out prizes.
There will be a few changes from past years. For starters, you the crowd will be voting for awards in several different categories. The only prize I'll have any say in will be "Host's Choice". Also, I plan to post an hour by hour schedule of the day's activities so everyone knows when events will be happening. Camping WILL be available on-site, and several hotels are nearby. I'll post more info on those later. As you may remember, I'm not going to charge admission for the event. This event will break all records for expenses so I'll be looking for support from sponsors, donors, and T-shirt sales, so remember to pitch in however you can. I've got a lot of details to work out, so mark your calendars and bear with me while I work to set up an event like no other! Check out http://www.944fest.com for the official invite and details! See ya there?

First off... I hate you.
Why Ohio? I've never even heard of Ohio. Is it in Canada? I live in California, so driving out to Ohio would be a pain in the ass to say the least. Even if my 944 could make it cross country without issues, it would take more time than I prefer. Maybe in 06' you could find a location say near.... Davis, California ? I wish I could be there. |

I understand your frustration. Feel free to organize a similar gig in your neighborhood!

PCA 944, feel some of their pain. Many in Ohio don't drive the Porsche during the winter months.
Thanks for the invitation.

If I can find a copilot, I'd love to come. According to MapQuest, it'd be a 1,000 mile trip from here to there, but I'll try if I can.
BTW, I'm watching the 2004 video right now, very nice. I'm totally in love with this guy's s2:

Ahh the video...
Plenty of eye candy, but the music started out good then progressed to frustrating. For the next video could I suggest less background music? I enjoyed seeing the other 944's but it would also have been entertaining if you could include some interviews with the owners and some specs. Its a lot to ask, but its the least you can do for having the 944 Fest in Ohio. P.S. I beg you not to fast forward scenes. Knight Rider fast forwarded scenes, and it was corny. Just drive faster

Yeah, I think less music and more engine/road sounds would help.
Who is Chip Henderson, and do you know what the name for the color of his car is? It looks copperish, but was wondering what the real name might be.

haha, that video is my creation, it is not great I agree, but it was the best that we could get given the situation last year, the filming was not organized, so we had hardley any material. This year I am officially in charage of gathering footage, and getting people to tape and give me their footage.... So it should be alot better. We are looking for someone that wants to do some high quality video editing. I agree it could be nicer....
but with limited footage I tried...

I think I found a copilot. Now, as long as my boss doesn't me mind taking a few days off to hang out with a bunch of miscreants, err, I mean...
![]() I'll help with video if I get up there, I just love doing that stuff. If you want another camera gathering content, I might be able to set that up. Crap, I shouldn't be making plans until I know for sure that I'll be there.
