Hello,
I have a set of 15 inch fuchs on my 924 Carrera GT, currently the tyres are 215/55/15's on the front and 225/50/15's on the back. Are these tyres sizes correct? I have to replace the back tyres but would like to know if i should shove 50's or 55's on? Cheers,. ![]() |

Not sure about the 924 Carrera GT, but the stock tire size on a 944 na is 215/60R15 all around. For replacement, I'd say 225/50ZR-15 all around would be nice, or maybe 205s in the front and 225s in the rear. How wide are the Fuchs in the back? If they are 8 inches, I think you would be able to go all the way up to 245 or 255 width, but it might look funny, with a bulbous sidewall. With 7 inch wheel width the widest you can go would be around 235, *maybe* 245. I think Ahmet somehow managed to fit 245s on 7-inch cookie cutters.

I'm just completing a street conversion of my 924S to a 924GT. Up front are fenders from a 944 with C2 rims that are 7.5x17 with 205 50's, VR rated Yoko's. Out back I've had the fenders arched and fitted with a set of flares from GT racing. The rims there are also from a C2 and they are 9x17's with 255 40's VR rated with Comp T/A's. The hood has been opened up and the intercooler scoop placed in the appropriate location on the passenger side, fully functional for cold air induction for my N/A motor. The front bumper has been removed and a fiberglass front end, also from GT racing has been installed. I've got the MO30 front sway bar and and the 951 rear bar along with custom build bushings to hold everything in tight through the curves. The car is being painted this weekend (first coat) and should be on the road in about three weeks. Also I've got a limited-slip differential to put into the transmission before the car is ready!

The correct tire sizes and pressures are on the fuel filler cap and in the handbook. From memory those sizes sound correct. Most 924Carrera GTs came with 16" rims though, have never seen one with 15".

What size is your rear bar? What 951 does it come from (year)? And how did you make the bushings? Thanks...

So what size are for a stock 924S? I have standard phone dial rims with 195/65/15's. I want to replace the two rear with something wider but how far can I go? Want to keep the hight aproximately the same.

The phonedials from the 924S are 15x6. Stock is what you have now, the 195/65/15 tire. Personally i think 65 profiles look stupid as they are huge! I would personally go with a 205/60 or 55/15 tire. You could probably go with a 215 width as well, but that may be over kill. Just note that changing the tire size like that will throw off your speedometer slightly. Ideally i would try 205 in the front, 215 in the back. Anything more than 215 is really overkill for the 8v cars i think.
My '87 944 came with D90's from the PO, i am running 205/50/16 in the front and 225/50/16 in the rear. It looks great with the wider stance, but again i doubt this car will ever have trouble putting the power down! In comparing my 924S with the 195s and the 944 with the 225s...those 195s look plain goofy looking!
