Despite everything that has been said about the rubber center clutch disks, that disk is still totally usable. It looks in the picture like it has much of its life left and the starting price is right on. I'd buy it if I needed it.

-This is just my opinion and nothing more than that.

This is a perfect example of "The purchase price is just the price of admission" It costs good money to put in new parts, and our cars aint cheap to maintain. There is absolutely no way I would put in a used part in a 944 clutch after I had dismantled everything-not even if it just had 50 miles on it.

But the picture has a nice background (dirt and leaves) so I think that makes the part worth the money.

From the auction:
All warranties are void unless part is installed by a certified mechanic.

What certified mechanic is going to install a used, rubber clutch? You almost have to be best friends with your mechanic before they'll let you buy the parts new for them to install.

I once installed a used disc at the customers insistence. The disc "looked" OK, but you never know the history. It went out within 40 miles. He paid me labor to do it all over again with a new spring loaded disc. Hewas not happy. I flat out said, "I TOLD YOU! Now let's do this my way". He never argued with me again after that. That thing should go in the trash. Why pay/spend on labor to install a used part?

I count my blessings. Bringing car in tomorrow for distributor, rotor, O2 sensor and brake fluid flush. Mechanin told me to check w/ my girl who works at the Porsche dealer ($140 for dist & rotor - WITH her discount) for the parts. Figured I could get them at Pelican for almost 1/2 that, but I'd have to wait for shipping, so I told him next weekend. He called back 15 mins later saying he got OEM dist & rotor for $80. Very flexible to work with. I know he's not out to screw me, so he has a customer for life. In the long run, worth more than the markup on parts I'm sure.

I am not against using used parts for my very used car. I have used many from just about every used part supplier in the US. However, a used clutch disk? That is insane! Verruckt means crazy in german, not stupid!

Very true, some items used are fine. No issues. Best way and sometimes the only way to go. But a clutch disc?I liken that to buying used oil!

470, having workied at a car shop, i know there are som real fools out there that think their mech. knows nothing, it never ceases to amaze me.

This guy we had was tryign to order a clutch kit for his 930, he insisted he could get a good one for really cheap, my boss told him over and over he couldn't, what happened...?? clutch kit showed up, it was not a real sach disc, a cheap (junk) knockoff.... had to hold back the "I TOLD YOU SO"

don't you just love people?
