rear bumper options
My car was rearended at some point in its life, the bumper was painted an a tail light replaced. The prep was bad on the aluminum bumper so the paint is flaking off. Talking to a body man he told me that the best option is to remove the bumper, sand blast it then repaint. This got me thinking about other options. Are there other options????

Some people are partial to the look of the Euro style bumper. I don't know what type Canadian cars came with, tho.

You can try to get a euro bumper for the car, they made of fairly heavy duty fiberglass. Your best and actually cheapest option is to find one for sale in the UK and have it shipped over. I was quoted a few weeks ago $125 for shipping of a euro bumper state side, not sure if there is a different to Canada or not. The euro bumper also requires a different mount for the back, its a hardmount instead of a shock.
Other options include the GT Racing rear bumper (or is it the Fiberworks... i cant remember). This bumper is similar in look to the factory bumper, with no bumper pads and with the shocks pressed in. Both are very nice looks, i am particuarly partial to the shaved pad / Fiberworks rear bumper look. The euro look does look better but i think the rear looks best with no bumper pad at all. A cheap and not a bad looking route to take i think is to remove the bumper pads and have the holes filled in (you will need a Tig welder for this).
