Interior lights/clock stopped working when glove box taken out
I have an 86 944 Turbo and i took the the glove box out to look for that grommet by the battery. Anyways, when i was fiddling with the glove box light, trying to disconnect it, all of a sudden the light goes out (it was on when i was unscrewing the box) along with the clock and the door open light. The strange thing is that it was still connected with the red wire in the front and brown wire in the back. Then, when i was fiddling with it more the bulb came out and i think the copper on the back part of the light bent back, but i think thats beside the point. So know i re-installed the box with everything connected and still the lights dont work. While i had the box out i looked underneath and saw that a red and black wire went to a white connecter/plug, but the white connector was not connected to anything at that moment (it was next to a black plastic distrobution block like thing with green and other colored wires going to it). So I am trying to find out how to fix this. Could it be that white connector or did i blow a fuse or did i pull something else out when i was pulling on the light wire? Thanks.

I just checked to see if other interior stuff is working and everything else seems to be fine (radio, gauges, turn signals, headlights, power windows, etc.) its just the light between the sun visors, the glove box light, and the clock that dont work. Please help.

Check fuse first.
Sounds like you pulled the clock wire loose though (don't these all run in series starting at the clock guys?)

i pulled the fuse out and checked it and it showed a green light. Then i put it back and checked the interior lights again and now the clock and the light between the visors works, but the glove box light still doesnt work. Thanks for the replies so far.

I would guess that the glovebox assembly is taking a crapper.
They are really cheap to replace. The contacts become oxidized and the plastic gets brittle. Repair/refurbish is difficult at best. Might as well replace most of your fuses with new (another really cheap job) if one was iffy the others may be as well.

Alright thanks, but its nothing to be worried about right (shorts, fires, etc.)? For example, i can just leave it like that since i really dont use the glove box anyways?
