Porsche Crest 944 Tire suggestions

Hi Folks,

I am in the process of buying new tires for a '86 944 (with the original 215 60 R15 wheels). Can anyone give me some advice on tires (for occasional track/DE driving as well)? I am trying to decide between the Bridgestone Potenzas and Yokohama's ES 100s.

Let me know at your earliest convenience. And thanks in advance...

Best regards,

Humberto-

Bridgestone's SO-3 is probably the best street tire today.

For half the price, you get 90% of the performance with the AVS ES-100's. Great value. I have ES 100's on my 944, and am very happy with them. They'll last longer, too.

do the es 100's last a long time with normal driving and how good are they performance wise? About how many miles?

I love my Yokohamas. I have ES100's on the 944 and Parada spec 2's on the VW, and they are both incredible tires. I actually think the Paradas are better, but they aren't made for a 15" rim.

I'd go with ES100's if I were you, but I've also heard good things about Fuzion's - you may look into those too.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for all the comments...I went ahead and bought the Yokohama ES100s.

I also checked the Kumho ECSTAs, but I could not find them for the original size wheels.

Cheers,

Humebrto-

I like mine, I've had them on my fuchs for a while, but they seem to be wearing out way too quickly, other people have mentioned this. The sidewall is also rather soft on these!

I put Yokohama Avid V4S on mine a month ago. They have a great grip and are very stiff. I feel a lot more of the road now.
