Help with Blower problem

My blower works on position 4 but nothing happens on positions 1 through 3. Any ideas? I have a 88 944 NA.

Could be! The motor works so I figured it had to be the switch. But does that mean I have to replace the entire climate control system? That would be pricy.

Resistor bridge on blower. Need to pop it off and clean it. Has safetys that corrode.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

No pic, but on the early it's the cylindrical thing mounted directly in front of the blower motor (under the squirrel cage). Can't miss it.

On the later it's in about the same place but under a plastic cover. Think it's vented on the sides. Once you get to it you can use a test light to check that the switch in the dash is getting voltage to it.
