I had them on my 924 for 6 months and they are better than the stock sealed beams but not the greatest things in the world. Hold out for some Hella, Bosch, or Cibbie H4 lenses they are a lot better. I picked up a set of bosch lenses last year for ~$80.

If you can swing the money, go for Iceshark's setup. Otherwise go for the Clibe H4 lenses...i ran just those with stock wattage bulbs for a few months before i had time to install the full wire harness and it was much better than stock.

If your interested in seeing the lights first hand...im not to far away from you. I live in Oyster Bay, last exit on the Seaford/Oysterbay north bound.

I bought some of those, a while back from the same seller, and they have very thin glass, not at all like the ones gt racing sells, and they cracked right after I installed them, they acted as if the molding was warped or something.

Junk. Had them, sold them, did not bother installing them.

Cibie's or Hella only from now on.

Iceshark's if you got the money are very nice from what I have seen.

Lets face it, anything is better than stock. Is there pics though to see what the Bosch or Hellas look like on a 944? or can someone take pics and post. JW cause I deliver pizzas and at night the stock bulbs sucked so I upgraded to Coolblue slvania (idk how to spell it)

Thanks

Paging Dr. Wray...

auh - I think I can answer that, the problem with the "coolblues" (I've tried them) is that they are actually DIMMER than regular sylvanias... Whenever you put a filter (color) in front of a light source you lose overall intensity. From what I hear the only upgrades worth doing are the Hella H4's and Iceshark's kit. For anyone interested, search here or rennlist for "headlight upgrade" and I guaruntee you'll find 10+ recent threads on this topic affirming (I hope) what I said.

If you want the cheapest solution while still having an improvement over stock, get the Sylvania Silverstar sealed beam lenses. They are nothing special, but better than what you likely have on right now (just about anything is however).

You can pick up both for under $30 if you catch a sale. But if you think about it, for another $50-70 you can just get the Clibe lenses!

I've been running H-4's since I bought my 83 944 in 1985. I will not use anything else.

The cool blues aren't actually blue, thats just the name. They are bright white but i just wanted to see some side by side pics of H4's to Bosch to Ice Sharks, etc.

My question is will Iceshark's kit work on early 924's?

Are the wiring harnesses and all that the same as the 944?

Yup, the lights have their own wiring harness that takes power from the alternator (shorter run). The original light-circuit is just used to activate the relays on this new harness.

Running just the lights alone without the new harness will not give as strong lighting due to the higher resistance. You also run the risk of melting light-switch due to the stock circuits running ALL of the power through the switch itself...

about $400, I think a little more. If you search this board you will find IceSharks website with pics and pricing...
