Tire Suggestions
Situation:
Seattle, Washingon 1985.5 944 - 15" cookie cutters - 215 are mounted as of now I need a sticky tire that can perform in wet and dry. Decent tire life for my daily driving and something that is good for track on the weekends. I think that i could stuff 225's on there. MAYBE.

stock is 215/60/15. Autocross people run 225/55/15 which will be a little wider and have a shorter sidewall for less sidewall flex. I loved my Yoko AVS E100's they were sticky in the dry and good in the wet.

Thanks for the info.Are you running 215's or 225's?
I am thinking autocross and track days at Pacific Raceways(SIR).

I've run all the leading tires on my 911 and IMHO the Bridgestone S03 is the best dry and wet weather tire out there. Very sticky with stiff sidewalls. On the down side they wear out fast. Great traction in the rain that will give you the confidence to push the car. Last set I only got 8000 miles out of them on the rear. Fronts last about twice that long. If you are doing track days you might find them a bit too expensive considering you won't get alot of miles out of them.

I have 225/50 15's on my cookie cutters and they work great.
i use Yoko ES100's... love em. Great grip and fit nicely I hear the Kumho 712 just doesn't keep up with the ES100 in grip. You may also look into Fuzion ZR1's as I've heard awesome stuff about those and they're cheap.

225's fit fine. I race on 225/50 or 225/45 tires on Cookies.
Yoko AVS ES100's are adequate street tires. Pretty good value, but don't have the grip of SO-3s. |

I've been running 225 60's on 15 cookies for... I don't know how long. Go to a 60 series tire, you will be amazed.

Another vote for the Pole Position SO-3s. They are great tires. My fronts have lasted 15K and the rears lasted 10K despite my very aggressive driving. They are amazing in the rain.

With 225/50 15's don't the wheel wells seem too open. I mean there would be a lot of unfilled space so i would think that it would look funny?

You decide...
The 60 series sidewall simply is too "flimsy" for autocrossing and will not give as stable a feeling in corners.
