944S Chain Tensioner ??

Where can I get the replacement
plastic (guide) on the chain tensioner.
I have an 88' 944S and the plastic
on my tensioner is about to fail,
top and bottom.

In my opinion, having looked at quite a few broken engines, you should replace the entire tensioner, since the cracking ramps are only part of the problem.

The other part of the problem is that the hydraulic portion of the tensioner starts to wear out, resulting in the chain not being properly tensioned.

Spend the money and drive in confidence.

I was not able to find the bottom pad, but they don't wear much and haven't seemed to cause failures. I did the whole assy since I coldn't find the bottom pad. I honestly don't know what I would do next time (or if I were you), top pad or whole assy. Probably spend the ~$300 on the whole thing. How many miles on it?
