Hood scoop finished!!

I wanted to do something to add a little more of an aggressive look to the front end of the car..I purchased a hood scoop off an 85 300ZX Turbo for $30 bucks..The scoop has 4 mounting studs on the underside and I knew there was no room for error once I started drilling..First,I layed the scoop on top of the hood and found the best location for it..I decided 3 inches in front of the cone filter under the hood was the best location..Next I marked the mounting studs with Vaseline and placed it onto the hood as a template..Next,I drilled 4 holes starting with a tiny drill bit going up in size each time..Once done,I layed the studs onto the hood to check location and fitment..Perfect!!..Now,I removed the scoop once again and drew a perfect rectangle inside the drilled out holes..Jigsaw time...I cut a perfect rectangle out of the hood and remounted the scoop..I was a little nervous attempting this project with a perfect Porsche hood, but am very pleased with the finished product..A couple other unexpected bonuses are hearing the intake much louder when accelarating, and watching the temp gauge drop 1/8 lower when cruising on the highway..Anyway,the only dilema now is Red or Black..What do you guys think??

if you like black, stick with black. It's your car.

But you really should do something to keep water from migrating into your engine.

Why is your license plate bent-up and mounted in the wrong place?

The hood scoop looks decent, would look best in red so it fades away some. I guess my opinion is influenced by the fact that the 924CGTR/S hood scoop was body-coloured.

Have you lowered the rear via the eccentric bolts? If not, that would look much better................

Thanks for the opinions so far..Being everyone says it looks better Red,I will eventually go back to Red..As far as the ride height,it is stock as of now..I would like to lower it,but Im running big meats on the back and I dont want to have any rubbing issues..When the car does need tires again,I will go with a 245/45/16 and then lower it via the "eccentric bolts"..To be honest,Im happy with the way the rear of the car looks..Its the front that has the huge gap..When I redid the front struts,I looked into lowering springs and it seemed they are near impossible to find for N/A's unless I go to a coil over setup..I havent came up with a plan yet but I do agree it needs to be lowered. If you guys know of where I can find some lowering springs for the front, lemme know..Oh,and Tifo,,the plate is there because the screws on the bumper seemed to be seized..And in the state of NJ,the cops strictly enforce the BS front plate law..Dont worry though..A turbo nose is soon to come..When it does, the plate will be in the correct place..
