Rear 944 Emblem

The "9" in my 944 emblem broke, so I need to replace it.

Does anyone have a good method for removing the old one, removing any remaining glue, and installing the new one in the right location and straight?

Use dental floss to cut through the adhesive. Then use something like goo gone to remove teh old stuff.

You should see a shadow in the paint to line up the new emblem.

take a heat gun to the badge first, then run the dental floss, or fishing line behind the badge. use goo gone to remove the old stuff like juvat said. Becareful not to damage the paint or anything from the heat gun/hair drier.

I bought some Airplane Decal/Adhesive Remover. Spray, wait 10 mins, and in practically fell right off.

Napa sells a thin double side tape for body side moldings. Just put that on the back of the emblem trim it to fit with an Exacto knife or razor stick it back on.
