ceramic brake pads

So I was talking to my dad today after he looked at my front wheels and he said, "You should look at the wheels of my Montero. I put on ceramic pads on the front about 7,000 miles ago and look how much brake dust is there."

So he started to tell me about them, then looked them up at Autozone for the 944 and couldn't find them.

Are ceramic pads available for our cars?

Stay with the stock formulations. You can get plastic covers that keep any brake dust off of the rims.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

I had the plastic covers and took them off cause they do nothing but hurt your braking performance.

I just want to know if someone makes these type of pads for the 944.

Hurt your braking performance? What track Le Mans or Watkins Glen? Otherwise: NOT!

Use a semi-metallic pad instead. Soem of the better ones are Hawk, Pagid and Metalmasters. I've used metal masters on mine for about 6 years now, and they last forever and leave HALF the dust of normal pads.
