hatch lock cylinder seal
Hey guys! I'm trying to change the seal around the hatch lock cylinder - i remember seeing an assembly drawing or a diagram somewhere (I thought it was my Haynes book but it's not)-also tried Clark's garage but nothing there either - does anyone know how to take the lock out? or where I could find a drawing? -thanks

pretty simple... there are a 4 nuts that need to be taken off, and the assembly slides out the hole from the inside.
additionally, there are 2 pins which attach the lock to the hatch release assembly. I believe they use use little plastic clips to secure them into the lock mechanism. all said and done, it takes about 15 minutes to do. edit: if you have a copy of the PET, it will show an exploded diagram of the assembly, but once you take a look at it beneath the carpeting, it is straight forward.

not sure what the letters stand for (although somethng tells me P = Porsche).
Its the electronic parts catalouge program. Pick a model, year, car system, and it shows an exploded view of all parts. Click a part, and you get the part #. Convenient for things Pelican carries but doesnt list on their pages. Also gives you a general idea of how things fit together.

IIRC... If you're just replacing the rubber seal around the lock there's no need to remove the lock. Simply remove the old rubber and press in the new one.
