Battery size?

Anyone know what the universal "size code" is for a battery to fit an '84 944? for example, size 75, size 31, 49, etc.....

couldn't tell you, but an interstate battery MT-47 or MTP-91 fit fine.

Thanks,

Anyone else?

It's a long story, but because of a repair screw-up my GF has a credit for a battery at one of those mega repair chains (Yet another reason to never go to big quicky-lube/repair chains) , and no use for the battery. We were hoping to use the credit to get a battery for my 944. We haven't checked yet, but expect them to be reluctant to give us a battery for a different car than the one she originally got the battery for, so we just wanted to ask for a battery by number, and not go into discussing what car it's for. I have no idea whether this will work or not, but we wanted to try.

Not yet that will fit easy as they are usually too tall. So you need to mount on the side and figure out how to tie down.

BIC Group 41 or 40R will fit. The 41 getting the positive post a little close to the sheet metal surround by the windscreen. So be careful with wrenches and have the negative cable disconnected until last of installation. Others will fit also like Group 42, but most places will carry group 41 or 40R in stock.

Thanks for the help guys.

I ended up getting a free replacement, since the battery in the car was less than 24 months old. That's what happens when you don't drive a car very much, then park it all winter.
