Hey quick question....I just had my timing belt, rollers, tensioners, water pump, slave cylinder, and clutch cylinder replaced...think my car will be any faster. Im pretty sure it will be because before it went in it was leaking coolant bad and it didnt seem like it had as much acceleration.

Sounds like at least 10 maybe 20 HP's there. I know my new tires added at least 20 HP's.

Funny....I was being serious by the way...Ive heard if your engine tends to overheat it can rob power, in turn slower acceleration. Also if your engine isnt timed correctly it also can rob power. Ill put money down that my car is quicker.

I was teasing, of course. Sure, any car that is in a less-than-maintained or poor state of tune will defginitely run better once it is brought up to its potential. But I'm not sure that qualifies as "faster". Get that car up to its stock potential and you have a solid, well engineered sports car.

I agree with DAN, It wont be any faster then stock, but it might be faster then what you had, Problem is when the engine gets really hot it might start to pull out some timming advance, thus affecting performance

Faster? Faster than a honda odyssey mini van? Probably not. It's all in the handling and adequate power.

most noticable difference for me was fuel filter, plugs, rotor and distributor... verify your wires are good, your fluids are fresh and you don't have any vaccuum leaks...
i wouldnt think a timing belt change would effect speed any, but will definitely prevent catastrophic valve damage. Dan in Pasadena - will this still happen with chromed valve covers? I heard somewheres that the chrome plating will take most of the damage leaving the valves untouched.

Depends if you polish the chrome with an argyle or athletic sock.
