968 Torque Tube Removal and Replacement

I am in the process of removing my 968's torque tube, to have the bushings within redone. The driveshaft is severely bent on the clutch side...

I have detatched the tube but I cannot get it over the (rear torsion bar) common point for all the rear suspension/body components.

I have (2) main questions:

(1) Since the torque tube is flanged on both ends and it spans over the rear torsion bar, is there a way to get it out without having to drop the entire rear suspension.. (This would make me happy!).

(2) Does anybody know where I can purchase a used torque tube assy instead of going through the trouble of shipping and refurbishing costs... I may be cheaper, faster and "perhaps essential", if mine is now permanently damaged

Any and all suggestions are very appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Only way is to drop the rear suspension to clear the spare tire well.
Check out Clarks-Garage website under garage shop manual/torque tube rebuilding.
It has a very good write up on rebuilding torque tube.
