Are 85.5 944s with auto trans hard to find?
My uncle would like to buy a 944 with an automatic. It must be 85 or earlier to get a break on insurance. I'm recommending an 85.5 because of the improvements over the early (83-84) models. The car must be an automatic so that my aunt can drive the car. They are looking for a car in the Quoge (sp?), NY area.

Well I think they would consider cars in reasonable driving distance, NY, NJ, CT basically northeast. Thanks for the links. I think their budget would be 5-7K for a turn key car.

When I was looking last summer (tri-state area) the ratio of 5 speed to autos were about 7 to 1. The nicest, by far, car that I saw, really show room quality, was at a dealer in yonkers. It was like an 86 with 40k on the dash, flawless, 5 speed but they were asking somewhere in the area of 10 thousand for it.
